Port Monitoring with the Zabbix Widget Switch

This article introduces the “Zabbix Widget Switch,” a new open-source widget for Zabbix that provides a visual representation of network switch port status directly within a dashboard. Instead of listing interfaces as text, it displays a graphical switch layout with color-coded ports (green=up, red=down, grey=disabled) for quick and intuitive monitoring, significantly reducing reaction time during incidents. The widget is highly configurable with features like customizable profiles, mixed port layouts, and detailed port statistics, making it practical for real-world network environments.
