Prometheus Conformance Program: First round of results

The Prometheus Conformance Program launched to ensure interoperability within the Prometheus monitoring ecosystem by testing software against defined compatibility standards. The first round of testing categorized software into four types – Metrics Exposers, Agents/Collectors, Storage Backends, and Full Prometheus Compatibility – and revealed varying levels of compliance among popular projects and cloud services like Cortex, Thanos, and offerings from Amazon, Google, and Grafana. The program is now open to community contribution and aims to incentivize vendors to participate in building and improving the testing suite, ultimately boosting end-user confidence.
