Announcing Prometheus 3.0

Summary

Prometheus 3.0, the first major release in 7 years, is now available and introduces a redesigned UI, enhanced remote write capabilities (Remote Write 2.0), and full UTF-8 support for metric and label names. This version also improves interoperability with OpenTelemetry through native OTLP ingestion and offers performance improvements in CPU and memory usage while maintaining a focus on stability and backward compatibility. Users upgrading from older versions should consult the migration guide for potential breaking changes and are advised to upgrade to v2.55 first.
