Enabling business-driven automation

This article argues that traditional automation efforts often fail because the business users who possess crucial knowledge aren't the ones building the automation, leading to systems that handle simple cases but break down with complexity. The solution isn't better requirements gathering, but empowering business users with AI-powered tools – specifically low/no-code platforms enhanced by generative AI – to directly create and adapt automation based on their expertise. This shift towards "business-driven automation" prioritizes accessibility, adaptability, and embedding intelligence within existing workflows to finally realize the full potential of automation.
